For the first time, Great Place to Work has released its ranking of the best companies to work for in Portugal in the IT sector. The consultancy turned to the various employees of these companies in search of the highest levels of trust.
The three sectors of company size are defined by the number of employees in each company. AdvanceWorks was considered the best small IT company to work for. Mind Source achieved the same position in the medium-sized company category and Cisco was voted best in the large company category.
Great Place To Work was the digital questionnaire tool, tested worldwide and allowing all employees to take part in the process of evaluating the company where they work. All the companies considered are part of Culture Brief's Information Technology sector (with certification valid until May 30, 2024) and have a minimum of 20 employees.
Once the requirements have been met, companies must have a trust index of at least 65%, tested by the Trust Index questionnaire given to employees. This method measures employee culture and experience, allowing people managers to measure (and subsequently improve) the experience and working environment.
In this sense, the Best Workplaces are associated with valuing culture as a competitive advantage, through a better ability to attract and retain talent and the consequent possibility of strengthening Employer Branding strategies.
The sector was chosen for the first list in Portugal because it is “the most representative of the Great Place to Work community” in the country, as stated by Maurício Korbivcher, CEO and Country Manager of the consultancy.
The executive director added: “With this list, we want to recognize IT organizations that are creating a positive and consistent employee experience and that are transforming their culture into a competitive advantage, strongly impacting employer branding. The creation of the most sought-after of lists, the IT list, satisfies a long-standing desire of companies to have specific recognition for their business area.”
In order to celebrate this pioneering distinction, a round table event was held on the theme of “How to expand the limits of human potential through A.I., For all.” The event was attended by Ricardo Henriques (Abreu Advogados), Bruno Soares (Foundever) and Jorge Carrola Rodrigues (professor at Nova IMS). The moderator was Lourenço Medeiros, a journalist from SIC.
