The challenge
Creation of new processes to generate regulatory reports and send them to Banco de Portugal. The identified reports in this context are the annual percentage rate of charge (APR), the Bank Account Base (BAC) and the Credit Responsibility Center (CRC) reports.
Report generation required:
- Segregate the information to ensure that the CRC report did not contain products marketed by the bank Consumer Finance and vice versa;
- Define a database management process for the Bank and new processes associated with report generation;
- Establish a new communication channel with Banco de Portugal to send and receive files.
The Solution
The solution for CRC's communication, between Banco de Portugal and the Bank, was based on the creation of a new app.
The Batch processes acre created every month and report the following files with predefined layout by Banco de Portugal: Debtor Communication (CDEV); Balance Communication (CSLD); Balance Dissemination (DSLD); Balance Changes’ Dissemination (DALT); Internal Credit Information Request (PSLC); Request for external credit information (PSLW); Response to Internal Credit Information Request (RSLC); Response to External Credit Inquiry (RSLW) Note that, for each file sent to Banco de Portugal, an alert file is received to notice if it was generated with or without errors.
Results
The success of the project accomplished the following
The implementation of a new CRC communication process has enabled the Bank to comply with all legal and regulatory authorizations associated with the start-up of credit card and personal credit management for bank customers, as well as future Open Market customers.
